Public toilets are a site chiefly for homosexual offenses vs. adults, and our data show altogether 60 cases taking place there. Homosexual acts with children or minors as partners come to only about 3 per cent, but it was reported in over a fifth of the homosexual offenses between adult partners. In fact, public lavatories stood second, after residence, as the most common place of occurrence in this subgroup. Toilets most commonly used were those in bars, movies, subways, squares, and parks, and a few in libraries, churches, or museums. This aspect of homosexual contacts has been developed more fully in the chapter on homosexual offenders.
For other than homosexual offenses, toilets were used in only ten cases. These were scattered in an incidental fashion except for those in the aggressions against children and minors, where the small size of the subsamples inflated three and two cases to represent 11 and 7 per cent of the cases taking place in toilets.
